Recordings from the Center

It's difficult to explain how our music sounds, as many people have never heard anything quite like this music. The tradition of this aesthetic goes back to the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, where Mario Davidovsky developed a technique for integrating electronic sounds with live instruments. We teach that same technique here at Harvard, adapted to the computer. See "About the center" for more information.

If you find this music compelling, I would encourage you to contact the composers about their works.
